If you spend at least 180 days in the service, including time spent in training and holdover companies, you automatically qualify as a regular serviceman despite not having finished training or transitioned to a duty station. Your probationary status is ended, and at that point if you are separated for other-than-criminal reasons (medical board, EPTS injury disqualification, psychological or behavioral reasons where you didn't commit a crime), you'll be honorably discharged and count as a veteran.
