I put it on like a year ago mostly just as a nostalgia trip and was like "damn this album is actually unironically amazing." Ended up buying a copy on vinyl.

Nice, that was actually how I started down the Kid Rock road, I was revisiting Limp Bizkit and nu-metal bands. Devil Without a Cause kept coming to mind even though I don't consider it strictly in the same genre, it's more like laid back country rap/rock. What gets me to this day is how unique of a style it is. I'm gonna throw that bad boi on tonight 😁

His music is mediocre and he is a fucking douche bag

4
CounterRevolutionary 4 points ago +4 / -0

His music is boring. He relies on a huge band. Even fans leave the concerts early because he just goes on and on and on. No one needs 4+ hours of 20 minute versions of mediocre Springsteen songs.

28
WhoWasThatMaskedMan 28 points ago +28 / -0

Yeah he sold blue collar angst to the masses but never worked a day job in his life. Some of his songs are good, but he's definitely a phony. There's nothing worse than being around Springsteen die hards. Now there's a cult.

I can admit to liking a number of his songs: Born to Run, Thunder Road, Jungleland, I'm on Fire, Glory Days, Darlington County, Rosalita, and a few other lesser knowns, but he's overrated and his image is a fraud.

u2 are the worst kind of globalist suckers that you can find. been sucking literally all dicks they could suck. musically you gotta give them some credit though, and I'm positively amazed at how they have kept going their shows for 40 years. i still haven't heard them on the 2020 election.

2
johndude 2 points ago +2 / -0

already big globalist suckers by this time — musically I actually prefer their 90's era, ironically — anything pre-1991 was just too simplistic, as in, always the same chorus melodies (yeah ok we got it, you can descent the major scale down to the root note), always the same chords and scales... gotta give'em credit for sound and energy though

i think most of their success is due to the incredible smartness of bono as a businessman, guy's a true genius, nothing to be said about that — doubled with a true motherfucker

2
PositiveEnergy 2 points ago +2 / -0

Bono is on record saying that capitalism helps pull people out of poverty. https://youtu.be/Kz4DRWYVvCw

Almost the entire music industry is a psyop. Same with movies. Same with TV. Same with sports. Same with most books. Psyop built to undermine America and turn it into CommieLoveLand.

3
NotDangerousGame 3 points ago +3 / -0

Thats why I admire Vigo Mortenssen(sp) so much. He's an actor and I dont really know what his political beliefs are. He's liberal I assume, but he doesnt cram it in your face. He just does his thing while being a damn fine actor.

1
Piddle 1 point ago +2 / -1

Green Day was painful for me to let go of, not that I liked them to begin with but their music was okay if you needed some background music. Now I can't stand them because they outed themselves as commie lovers.

Spirits in the Night was good too, but Manfred Mann did it better

2
DonnieRamesJio 2 points ago +2 / -0

He's making fun of the people in the bar who never cared about leaving town for the big enlightened city, saying their best days of playing high school sports are behind them

4
AsaNisiMAGA 4 points ago +4 / -0

This is a perfect description. Also, just because a song has America words in the title doesn't make it patriotic. And Bruce was never a patriot. He's a globalist. I saw an interview years ago where the Earth Wind & Fire guys were laughing about rich couples who hired them for wedding parties and wanted them to play "Reasons." Really? It's not a romantic song. It's about a one night stand who's going to get ghosted. "Born in the USA" has as much to do with patriotism as "Reasons" has to do with true love.

2
slangin_paint 2 points ago +2 / -0

A lot of the credit for the music should be given to Silvio from The Sopranos.

2
WinstonSmith1984 2 points ago +2 / -0

Jon Bon Jovi is the same way. He and Springsteen have both claimed that their properties were farms to get subsidies and tax write offs.

Springsteen should give all his credit to the E Street Band for a lot of that. Now he did write a few good songs. I saw him live at Madison Square Garden and then again in Hartford, CT on his big tour way back when. A friend was dating his lighting guy and we had tickets and backstage passes. But after the show he did not hang out and meet fans but I saw him just sitting in the van waiting for someone to drive him away. Weird.

2 good songs from a Sociopath is worthless. P.S... one of my best friends was in a band with him.

I actually like Pearl Jam back in the early 90's as a teen, but once Eddie started speaking out about gun control, he's liberal trash like the rest of them. I can no longer listen to any of his music.

2
DonnieRamesJio 2 points ago +2 / -0

Didn't they fire their best drummer over him buying a nice gun and a new car? Meanwhile the bassist has no issue barfing up $6000 for an 8 string bass that has never appeared on stage or tape

-5
The_General_Patton -5 points ago +5 / -10

My friend, Dave Silva, told me Eddie would go behind the band's back to make deals for himself with record labels.

Springsteen is one of the most overrated Musicians ever. He stuff isn’t that great it is average.

3
thatwasawesome 3 points ago +3 / -0

Yep. These people drank some special Kool-aid back in the 70-80's. Made a lot of money off the back of capitalism and turn around and trash it. Kinda like AOC selling T-shirts while saying capitalism sucks.

3
WopNine17plus1 3 points ago +3 / -0

Whether you like his music or not ---- he's a manufactured star. An UNKNOWN musician from Jersey on the cover of TIME and NEWSWEEK THE SAME WEEK hailed as the SAVIOUR of Rock n Roll. Payola. Bribes. MSM funny business.

That always smelled hinky to me.

Pepe Farms Remembers, 1974.

3

Born in the USA is an Anti-American song. I have never liked the punk. Ryan Adams is a nut job, but his music is 100 times better than Bruce the Commie anyway.

He is a fraud. Like that other bastard Steve Earle. Spent his entire career singing about working men and women then shitting on them with their politics. Earle doing concerts for coal miners and singing coal miners blues. what happens when Trumpy brings the coal mines back? He fucking does an anti Trump rally on the border.

1

Oskar64 2 points ago +2 / -0

Yep, i admit i like some of his music but he is a stooge. ALSO he spends far to much time with Geffen for my liking

3
SlickWillie 3 points ago +3 / -0

Bruce writes music about people who he publicly despises and who voted for Trump.

He romanticizes the common man who is just trying to make his way and live his life and do the best he can.

He also admonishes capitalism while basically being a capitalist. From what I've been told, his lyrics are good (no idea), but his actual music sucks because he sounds like a hound dog whose tail just got stepped on.

He's a hypocrite, in other words, and the only redeeming quality seems to be that you get your money's worth if you go to his concerts.

And his rendition of Santa Claus is Coming to Town is the only song I like.

2
MycologyofMAGA 2 points ago +2 / -0

Born in the USA has really depressing lyrics.

2
redgreenyellowblu 2 points ago +2 / -0

And the verse sounds identical to the refrain. Most repetitive song ever. Now that I think of it, it's just his stupid "Santa Clause is Coming to Town" refrain but with different lyrics.

1
MycologyofMAGA 1 point ago +1 / -0

Anyone else like Muse? Matt seems much more willing to listen than most musicians but unfortunately I think he’s all over the map, one minute saying Trump is dumb the next he’s talking about how section 230 needs to be reviewed. I say all this because Muse was the band that kinda got me into politics as a teenager.

2

Same playbook repeated over so many times. It's called the Talmud

2
PoorMansPsychiatrist 2 points ago +2 / -0

Springsteen's singing sounds like he's taking dump. And he needs some fiber in his diet.

2
Pelayo 2 points ago +2 / -0

He has mined nihilism for over 40 years whilst living one of the most privileged lives ever experienced by a human being.

2
Tenspot20 2 points ago +2 / -0

Always hated that no-talent New Jersey scum-bag, he has a voice like he regularly eats 200 grit sand-paper. How he ever made it in music is the real news.

2

He's fake music. He does not believe what he pretends to represent. He is not a patriot, in fact the opposite.

He masquerades as a sympathizer with the working class but is , in reality , a member of the Elite Left who is a self-proclaimed " progressive " who rubs shoulders with the Hollywood crowd and supports their radical agenda .A multi-millionaire who forgot his roots now that he is an " icon " , for what that's worth .

2
