My university has had us in classrooms for over a year now. I love it! As liberal as it can be, and a shitty as other teachers are, that's what keeps me going. Knowing that I am making a difference is all I need. I ignore the bullshit.

My wife is a teacher and holy shit her friends are so bad. Most of them are the laziest fucks you have ever encountered in your entire life.
Many of them are staying home for weeks on end by saying they have one of the listed symptoms and then not getting tested.
In their defense, the large districts are absolutely soul-crushing. Nobody wants to work in them so they have to put up with the ones that will.

Im out on covid leave. Im still required to keep up with all the duties i normally would, im just not allowed in school. This is more work than I would have otherwise. Its crazy hard to put together a good lesson when you aren't going to be with the kids.

I dont mind schools being closed, as a matter of fact, lets close all public indoctrination prisons forever. Homeschooling/private schools will be much more responsive and cheaper.
