I’m trying to put some money down on betfair but I’m not in Nevada Delaware or New Jersey and my damn vpn isn’t working properly at the moment 😭

Are you sure that they allow you to bet the political markets from the regulated states in the USA? Was under the impression the US political markets in particular might not be available unless you're in another country, but I guess there's a chance I'm mistaken.

I was under the impression it was possible to bet on their website from those three states I mentioned. But perhaps there is a caveat if it’s a political bet. I’m not much of a betting man, and I don’t like the idea of betting money on something that is potentially the most important moment of modern civilization, but, I also don’t wanna kick myself next month for missing out on an easy few grand haha

Maybe, it depends on how much is on the line for them I think.

Releasing the funds into virtual accounts probably results in a small amount of actual real dollar payouts, while the majority gets put right back into betting, where they make their money.
