The sudden popularity of Newsmax is probably because the only somewhat popular alternative to fox was them and OAN. OAN clearly has a smaller budget so it makes sense that more people would gravitate towards Newsmax. People say to be careful with them and I would agree with that, but there seems to be a lot of very pro Trump hosts for the time being. Of course don't just believe whatever you hear but even yesterday posting a video of Stinchfield having the "8 states backing texas lawsuit" wasn't enough to appease most of the people here. Others also said they heard it on War Room from Bannon but that didn't stop negative comments.
As I understand it the "amicus curiae" stuff does not involve a claim of damages to those parties, but can imply "neutral third party" types of situations.
Wish an actual attorney could weigh in here...???
Edited to add: okay I just read some of the actual document, which says "MISSOURI AND 16 OTHER STATES AS AMICI CURIAE IN SUPPORT OF PLAINTIFF’S MOTION..." so helps answer part of my question I had...
Let me get this right. Does this make it official that 17 states are joining Texas?
Isn’t an amicus brief different from joining as a plaintiff?
Oh boy o boy do I have some comments to reply to now!
That seemed like an demoralization effort.
Followed by a wave of Newsmax-bashing! Also an amazing amount of "don't vote in the GA runoffs"!!! Yes we can smell the astro-turfiness!

Nothing will demoralize us!
Yep, it was obvious since these things take legitimate time and they were crying it's not official immediately. Totally coordinated.
It was fake until we this document was made
Well, it's fake news that 5 to 10 States are joining Texas. Real news is 17.
Yes. Texas leading the charge with 17 other states backing it up.
Yes thank you for clarifying this.

Better than nothing
