Something like, until SCotUS accepts the case, the additional states can't officially join... but I think they're filing separately with the intent of combining with Texas' suit (like a class action suit) assuming SCotUS does accept it. But I don't have all the details... that's just my understanding at the moment. I'm still reading... :)
They have filed an amicus brief in support of Texas. These are sometimes referred to as "friend of the court" in the media.
From google:
Amicus Curiae. Literally, friend of the court. A person with strong interest in or views on the subject matter of an action, but not a party to the action, may petition the court for permission to file a brief, ostensibly on behalf of a party but actually to suggest a rationale consistent with its own views.
I think people just want to be factually correct and accurate with the terminology.
What am I looking at? Red states have joined the lawsuit?
Yes, correct. Blue are contested.
Why do certain people on here still say that these states have not technically joined??

At this point, I think the Scotus not accepting it is just as bad, if not worse than any of the other outcomes.
It is 100% a question that deserves an answer.
They are trying to demoralize you. More states will join
