People think that their state had already joined, they stop calling. People stop calling, states are not pressured to join. We would be shooting ourselves in the foot.
People need to know the truth, not just what makes us happy.
As it stands, I am very happy with this outcome. So many more stepped up than was predicted! People are really stepping up and engaging with their government officials, and it is making a difference.

I think they were just urging caution. The site gets trolled so much that sometimes it's warranted. It's all confirmed now.
