I have a question: What are the substantive differences between a civilian court and
a military court/tribunal?
When Donald activates his EO/Insurrection Act, those arrested will be facing a military court, from what I've read.
I'm an Army brat, my father was career, and I heard there were significant differences.
But, I have no idea what those are or what bearing those might have.
Do you?
I read that Sidney Powell is a "military lawyer". Whatdat?
If you aren't in the military, you don't face military court. You have to be subject to court martial to face military court, as in, a member of the military.
Military tribunals which are different, are held for non US citizens only. US citizens face justice under the US criminal system, in fact, the supreme court has ruled that even illlegal enemy combatants, such as those held in guantanamo bay have recently been declared subject to the US justice system.
As far as I am aware, only war crimes should be tried in military tribunals.
