I am not into guns and I didn't serve in the military. But after seeing all the shit that I am seeing, I am scared. I did this to protect my family from the violent left. Also, I will defend this republic with my life from enemies foreign and domestic.

I'm not too far from doing that. I've never bought a gun before. It took a while to talk my wife into it but she's coming around.

I never bought a gun until this year. I bought a handgun earlier this year, then the rifle today. I will say that that there are pros and cons to both to consider.

9mm Pistol: Portable, cost around $450, can conceal and have easy access at night, etc.

Rifle: My cost out the door with rifle, dot sight ($350), sling, bag, and extra mag was $1200. But each mag has 30 rounds and it's MUCH more accurate.

As a new gun owner myself, I will say just think about what you want. Ideally, I think it's good to have both because you can carry both. But if you just want to get one, think about what is most important to you.

Good luck, I love my guns!
