Well, I think we all have different opinions about what constitutes masculinity. And what you like is what you like and that's just fine. I'm sorry you've had some bad experiences that may have colored your view of men. I like men, a lot. Of course, some are complete garbage, just like some women are complete garbage. But I understand that is individuals, not the entire sex.

For me, masculinity is that thing that immediately causes a frisson. You know you're in the presence of a man, you can feel the electrical charge. (Not necessarily in a sexual way.) My idea of a masculine man is one who can be a leader. If the SHTF, he's all over it. He doesn't back down or shy away. He knows right from wrong and won't tolerate wrong (like with this election fraud.) And I like good looking men too, but personally, I wouldn't want a guy who looks like I could knock him over with a playful punch to his arm. Stereotypically, in terms of physical appearance, I prefer a man who is broad of shoulder, (ideally, that wonderful V shape) and has masculine features. Even if he's pretty, you can tell he's a man. Facial hair is good, and I like men who carry themselves with confidence. Not douchebags who swagger around and make a spectacle of themselves, treating everyone like crap. - A man with that quiet confidence that keeps potential adversaries thinking it best to leave him alone. He shouldn't go looking for trouble, but if it lands at his feet he's not afraid to defend himself and family. And he should know something about HOW to defend himself. I like a man who is the head of his house. Not a tyrant, but a man who shoulders and accepts the responsibilities for making decisions and taking care of his family. As for personality, naturally quiet or naturally outgoing doesn't matter to me. But he has to be able to laugh. The best are guys with a sense of humor and are naturally funny. And as for character, I prefer someone who is upright, honest and loyal. Someone who has principles and values them, who is considerate of all people and doesn't classify people or treat them differently based on their positions or perceptions. I like men who enjoy stereotypical 'man' things too, like sports and the outdoors. I like a capable man. One who can take care of things, or is at least willing to learn. But I also like a man who is tender with a woman and understands that she is the weaker sex, because we are. That's me. Yeah, I know. It's a tall order. And the most important thing to remember is that men are just human. Just as we are just human. And we are not queens, we are not princesses. We are mere mortal women. So while I may have described my 'ideal' man, I know it would be hard to find one with all of these qualities. Men are not knights in shining armor, they are men. And I still love them.
