Insurance is legalized gambling

For it. I don’t want people wrecking my shit that can’t even protect their own shit. No different imo from mandatory homeowners insurance when the bank still owns your home.

If you don't want to pay don't drive. could be more connected to how much you drive. and not connected to home/fire insurance

You have no rights that infringe on any other individuals rights.

Imo you should be able to get out of it by putting funds in a security (300K). Other than that I’m for it.

What is your spaghetti policy?

Make it a pre-requisite for a license or license renewal?

For it. Have had 3 cars hit, one totaled by illegals with no insurance. Having uninsured/underinsured motorist comes in handy.

We also have business insurance and homeowner's insurance of course and life insurance. No health insurance, since Obamacare bullshit premiums screwed us over so badly. It is ridiculous paying insurance premiums when the deductible is so much higher than your routine care you never get any benefit.

Now that catastrophic care plans seem to possibly be back I may get one again.

The government doesn’t have the right to compel you to buy a product. They do it of course, but it’s unamerican.

Have you ever had your car hit by someone without insurance?

3
GrumpyAmerican 3 points ago +4 / -1

Yes I have. I have insurance, so mine paid for it. That’s what insurance is for.

Without insurance the parking lot looks like pull-a-part.

Should not be mandatory. And those who do buy it are buying coverage for ONLY their vehicle and occupants, no matter who is at fault. Anyone who doesn't want to protect their shit, their choice. They get into an accident without insurance, other person totally at fault, too bad.

If you get into a car accident and you die, and you're at fault, and you kill someone else, your life insurance doesn't pay out to you and the other person who died. But car insurance does that, one insurance company has to pay out everywhere. I think it'd be cheaper all around if you only got coverage for your own damn self. And only if your wanted to.

Mandatory car insurance is justifiable because driving is a privilege. Not a right.

Furthermore: you are responsible for any damages you cause to others as a result of reckless driving. Car insurance is part of that.

That’s a load of statist bullshit.

Thompson v.Smith, 154 SE 579, 11 American Jurisprudence, Constitutional Law, section 329, page 1135 “The right of the Citizen to travel upon the public highways and to transport his property thereon, in the ordinary course of life and business, is a common right which he has under the right to enjoy life and liberty, to acquire and possess property, and to pursue happiness and safety. It includes the right, in so doing, to use the ordinary and usual conveyances of the day, and under the existing modes of travel, includes the right to drive a horse drawn carriage or wagon thereon or to operate an automobile thereon, for the usual and ordinary purpose of life and business.”

Tell me that after some Illegal immigrant plows into your car who is uninsured.

I've had that happen to me once. It wasn't pretty.

I have had an uninsured driver hit my car. My insurance paid for it. I buy insurance because I’m smart enough to know it’s a wise choice.

I still say the government should not be allowed to compel you to buy a product, like car insurance, health insurance, abortions, vaccines or anything else you choose to not pay for. It should be your choice.

Ferrous_Tarkus 2 points ago +2 / -0

Have you ever had to file a claim against a car insurance company for an uninsured driver? It was a pain in the neck. Even if I had uninsured motorist coverage I had to jump through so many hoops.

It's a reason why I switched from Progressive. Never again.

You forgot this part

“ The exercise of such a common right the city may, under its police power, regulate in the interest of the public safety and welfare; ”
