Texas(and now other states) are saying their constitutional rights are being violated.
Here's why:
-
We decided to create a union.
-
"But how do we pick leaders?" someone asked.
-
"Let's make election laws and agree to abide by them." Everyone agreed.
-
We had an election.
-
Texas looked at a few states and said "Hey, you counted votes in violation of the laws we agreed to!"
-
The other states said "There was a virus so we made up our own rules."
-
Texas(and now other states) are saying "But you have hundreds of thousands of ballots without a voter. Playing by those rules is cheating and illegal."
-
These other states said "Our state, our rules."
-
Texas and others said "Then let the votes be examined."
-
Other states: "No."
-
Texas and others: "Then our agreement means nothing."
So it is framed as "scotus sides with Texas suit or constitution doesn't apply to Texas therefor secession" dang
