There is a national holiday every year for elections. It is the first Tuesday of November. All Americans are given the day off work. This is the only day you are permitted to vote, and voting must be done in person. Absentee voting is permitted with a valid excuse, and those votes must arrive to the polls by election day. All voters must present a valid voting id, and each vote must return a receipt to the voter and a receipt to be kept by the polling place - a paper trail.
