Look at real estate literally all over Canada, most of the large development projects, the percentage of students at their universities, the amount of trade they do with China... Oh, and the Chinese spys that were sending their military secrets (and ours by entension with the joint projects we have through Bombardier and Boeing) from upper levels of the universities and political structures.

Canada has been bringing in UN troops to shut down lockdown protests in Quebec. The UN has been given jurisdiction over the police (the police were allowing the protests).
There is also a law passed in 2019 allowing the CCP to show up unannounced to protect foreign investments on Canadian soil.
And "Under the terms of the Foreign Investment Protection Act (FIPA), a bi-lateral treaty ratified with China by the Trudeau government in 2019, Chinese security forces can be stationed on Canadian soil to protect vital Chinese investments, without the knowledge or consent of local authorities".

The U.S. defense department balked, and the Canadians cancelled it, albeit reluctantly.
Probably were going to use the training in the Himalaya's against India or Tibet.
