When scientology wanted to be accepted as a religion for tax purposes by the IRS, they just filed suit against every government employee that had anything to do with the process. They all caved and scientology won and became a "religion". Someone donate us some $$ and lawyers, we'll just run all of their asses through the system.

Yeah I'm surprised no one's mentioned this before as a tactical option. Scientology only got their tax exempt status by literally harassing and overburdening the system to the point that the government just gave up because they couldn't handle all the legal cases. And not just the government, but individuals in the government. It's one thing when you go after institutions, it's another when you specifically target individuals. The left knows how to play that game and it's very effective.
I would be interested if Jehova's Witnesses did the same thing. You cannot compare both on an ethical basis but they both became religions starting from sects.
