Why do all these sites have to suck so much. It's got auto-playing video, the banner on top taking up half the screen with no way to X it out, the text shifting up and down the screen as I'm trying to load.

The uBlock Origin extension for your browser and a pi-hole go a long way to making the ad heavy websites usable. Although if you're on mobile you're mostly fucked.

Just use duckduckgo's browser on mobile, it blocks everything natively, I heard that Brave is good also, never used it though
Firefox also allows ad blocking extensions on mobile as well. Ublock Origin to be more specific.
