Happy days for conservatives here. We had elections ont he 6th and a REAL conservative party (we do have a bigger party that leans conservative, but not the "real deal") that was founded literally 1 year ago and that literally half the population was not aware existed...got 9% vote for the parliament (5% needed to enter parliament). We will probably go over 10% once the votes for the parties that did not make the parliament will be redistributed. All this for a party that has been here for one year.
I can compare the party with Trump's base, too. The ideology is not that different (obviously cultural differences have to be taken into account, but still) and it has the same HIGH ENERGY vibe, it's probably the only party who said "fuck you" to the 'rona restrictions and held some rallies anyway.
Just so you know, pedes, you're not the only ones fighting the good fight, as you can see, we're pretty busy here ourselves! And while some may say 9% is not much, in this political context, with the party being 1 year old, with traditional parties clinging onto power harder than ever and with around HALF the population not even aware this party exists....this is not big, it's YUGE!
High energy from Romania!
Did you hear about the stupid blue controversy yesterday? A referee pointed to a black player when asked to say who was responsible for a mistake made during the match. Now, the referee pointed to this guy and said the "negru", which is black in Romanian. Outrage and cries of racism followed. Football players left the football field in protest, the match was cancelled, postponed to today or yesterday night, where the football came onto the field again, took a knee, and everyone was happy.
Please don't get me started on that one...I'm gonna have a brain aneurysm if I hear more of that bullshit haha
If I may ask, could you please get started? I want to hear your opinion on it 🤣
Utter bullshit that'scoming from the virtual signaling mainstream media (fake news) and globalist propaganda. Need more? :)
Nope! That's all I needed 😁
Just to clarify (because I don't really know much about what happened), did the fourth official say anything racist or did he just say the Romanian word for 'black'?
Literally the romanian word for the color black.
In a European cup game between Paris and Instanbul, the fourth official called the main referee's attention for misbehaviour by one of the Instanbul staff. The referee asked which one on the bench it was. The bench was occupied by several Turks and one black guy, all dressed the same. The fourth official said, in Romanian, "The black guy."
Even when this was explained in detail to the players that different languages exist, and they offered to continue the match with the fourth official off of the pitch, and instead taking over video assistant refereeing duties, they refused to play. If anyone else had done this - even for legitimate reasons - the governing body would have thrown the team out of the competetion.
The media over here is doing its best to obscure the details of the incident so as not to illustrate the sheer hypocrisy and utter fragile faggotry of the offended black player and those that backed him.
Don't Black Lives Matter? He should be proud for representing all black people everywhere! He was noticed for being a Black Life. He matters!
That was so bullshit. Is he supposed to say the guy in the purple socks or whatever? Nothing he said was racist or a slur of any kind. It was purely descriptive. I'm so sick of people looking to be offended and manufacturing racist incidents when nothing racist occurred.
I'm happy for your country, OP.
National conservative populists need to be united all over Western civilization.
Hey man, I'm German but I live in Hungary. I hope your conservatives are cool with Hungary? The conservatives here can be a bit retarded when it comes to Slovakia and Romania. You got a beautiful country over there, but corruption is always a problem same here btw., hope you can get some real country lovers to rule it and fight all the bullshit!
I will be the first to say, I'm ashamed that american force was used, to wage essentially private war for profit.
If we can save the US, I have hope we can actually help countries achieve a peaceful future.
There is a reason countries and borders exist. People are going to stay with like minded people. This multiculturalism is shoved in your face, and if you say anything, it's hate speech.
We in the United States, have had enough of subversive elements, hiding behind race and religion.
I'll pray and stand with you as you fight for your freedoms and country
I know almost nothing about your country (sorry), but I congratulate anyone who is fighting the good fight. This attack is world-wide and every nation needs to stand up. May God bless you and your country!
Mă bucur să aud. Iubesc România și toți frății mei Români.
He said "I'm happy to hear. I love Romania and all my Romanian brothers" ^^
I don't follow Romanian politics, but I did notice that the Romania subreddit was in mourning. Is this why? Who is AUR?
AUR is a conservative party. r/Romania is very, very liberal, woke and left wing, full of SJWs and the whole 9 yards. That should explain it haha
sounds like r/[insert literally anything here]
You're giving me hope man. Maybe Romania won't be corrupted by the leftist bullshit that ruined Western Europe.
Trăiască România! Doamne ajută!
That is so strange to hear. I've only been to Romania for one day, so I honestly haven't experienced the culture to it's full extent, but I got the impression that Romania was traditional and conservative.
I guess that impression may have been incorrect.
Take my high energy, Romanian fren! I have a friend whose parents who fled Romania in the early ‘90s. My friend’s dad was arrested the first time he tried to leave. Eventually, he was able to get out and bring his wife and their then-teenage daughter here. My friend just barely avoided being born in Romania. The family arrived in the States with almost nothing. Nearly 30 years on, they’re millionaires.
Literally the American dream.
The populist movements have been popping up everywhere for the last 10 years. It's all in response to globalism. No one wants to be controlled by international merchants or bankers (the juice). People want their independent countries to represent them and their interests.
Yes
I’m not familiar with Romania elections (my bad!) but that does sound like a lot if it’s at all like other European elections!
How many parties in parliament in total? Are there any other friendly parties that this new party can form a coalition with on certain issues?
5 parties. No real "friendly" parties atm but we are better of riding this mandate alone to gain more popular support.
There is one more big party who tends to be on the conservative side but they have a pretty bad reputation (objectively speaking, they had some really bad corruption scandals and there were mountains of irefutable proof).
Good Job, Romania! May Chuck Norris bring you all the presents you desire this Christmas Season!
Good on you, we have to stand together in this fight against the globalist agenda. Trade between countries is a must, but these huge conglomerates are only looking to make more money,at the expense of nations.
The fact that it's cheaper to haul chicken or pork to china for processing and shipped back, is preposterous, when these scums have billions in profits. Less profit, and better lives is more important than wringing the Golden goose's neck
The only real conservative party founded in 2017 in the Netherlands that won the election for the senate in 2019 just got destroyed from within. :(. Hope they'll do better in Romania
What happened?
Some time ago some teenagers from the youth party of Forum voor Democratie created some nazi memes in an unofficial group chat. This was not handled correctly. They expelled the wrong persons. A few weeks ago or so a newspaper got the story and the leader and founder Thierry Baudet called for a research of what went wrong.
A council member of Amsterdam thought it was going to slow and tweeted the whole youth party must be parted from the party.
After that Thierry Baudet stepped down as Leader but that was not enough for them now she wanted to expel him from the party and she got some backup from a few members of the top 10 on the electoral list for the elections in march.
Since he is the founder of the party he didn't want that to happen and saw it as a coup to grab power of his party he put himself up as a candidate for election to be the 'new' leader of the party. After this failed coup the ounce responsible left the party. There is a rumor that 2 of them are starting their own party.
The council member of Amsterdam is a former writer of a popular right wing web blog. When this was happening she started a smear campaign on this blog as an inside source that Baudet is antisemitic and a Nazi. Attacks you would expect from the left this and the chaos from the coup had an affect on senate members and county council members to part from the party as well.
TLDR: a coup happened for power of the party . Lots of chaos and people leaving. With an upcoming election this is not going to generate a lot of votes.
Such good news. Congratulations for saving your country! God Bless Romania. 🙏🏼
Felicitări!! Exciting to hear.
Felicitări!!
Congratulations Romania! Courage is contagious as Steve Bannon often says.
Just being nationalist and against the Covid lockdowns doesn't make a party conservative…
They have a left bent, I'm afraid. Can you dispel that?
Thanks.
<said in Team America; World Police>Romania, FUCK YEAH! Conservative save the motherfucking day, YEAH!</TA;WP>
Much love to you brother. Romania has a history of attacking socialism on Christmas. Unrelated- Can't wait to get one of those PSL's myself.
Yea, if they could stop hating and harrassing the Hungarian minority that lives there, that would be great. I roll with RMDSZ instead
Yea, if they could stop hating and harrassing the Hungarian minority that lives there, that would be great. I roll with RMDSZ instead
if the RDMSZ would stop pushing idiotic territorial claims and REEE screeches for autonomy no one would have a problem with you
Plus, Romania is special as it is for having those minority parties, they probably should not exist
Romania (spearheaded by thugs like AUR) is culturally genociding Hungarians to assimilate them into the population, aiming to destroy their language and traditions
"Dan Tanasă, one of the founders of the party, has initiated hundreds of lawsuits against Hungarian and Szekler symbols, resulting in Szekler settlements having to remove flags and Hungarian inscriptions from state-owned institutions. His affiliation with Romanian nationalist parties and a network of right-wing associations is obvious; we just have to consider last year’s unfortunate event on June 6 when a group of nationalists broke into a WWI-era Austro-Hungarian graveyard in the Úz Valley and forcefully inaugurated concrete crosses placed illegally in the cemetery."
Hungary is a conservative bastion in Europe, how about you stop biting the wrong hand and stirring hate.
