which is interesting since the 12th amendment gives congress to march 5th if the election goes to the house and senate. If no one is chosen by then The VP becomes president

Section 3 of the 20th amendment changed the date to January 20th. It was the 4th day of March up until 1933 because that used to be the start of the new presidential term.
