BBC, for example, will still run a 1.5-hour David Attenborough nature documentary without commercial breaks. Try getting anything like that on Discovery Channel, Animal Planet, PBS or whatever. Instead, a 1.5 hour program will be mixed in with a half-hour of ads to fill a two hour slot. But at least Americans still have a choice to not pay for that crap by not having cable TV.

Other states followed the constitutional requirements, the case says it’s not “fair” if these 4 states don’t have to and can steal our votes value away. Making the argument all the more difficult to deny! If it was just the 4 states didn’t follow their own laws, not as great a standing. At least that’s my understanding so far.
Also they said it makes a huge difference in the vp pick because with such a tight senate, and a strict two senate seats per state even lineup, this VP could be doing a ton of tie breaking. This also disenfranchises their votes if allowed to go ahead. Great case!

The SCOTUS will need to enter into this debate with an attitude of "we're not here to change the president, we're here to make sure all states abide by the constitution in how they deal with electors". This is guaranteed both by the Constitution and by previous Scotus rulings. It seems so obviously true, but what does it overturn? What does it change?

The suit doesn't request anything specific, to my knowledge. It simply asks the SC to rule whether the elections in those states were run constitutionally or not, which they obviously weren't. It will be up to the supremes to determine the remedy.
