These cops are stuck, needing pensions and paychecks to pay their mortgages and other needs. Lets start a fund to help them escape from this hell to places that need them. We'd need a liaison to the department, but if the civil force fails then new powers would be forced to take over

Write your local sheriff, constables, etc. ask them to reach out. Experience goes a long way in civil service jobs (in based states..)

I'd be more inclined to help cops out if they weren't locking up conservatives and taking our guns while protecting Antifa and BLM because "just doing muh job"

it's less about helping the cops than undermining the pathetic optics coming out of Portland right now. Its embarrassing to all Americans

Portland did it to themselves. They went off the deep end with many years of insane liberal nonsense. Let them rot. I have little sympathy for them anymore.

Would it not be a big sign if the police force so collapsed that the National Guard is called in to provide basic law and order?

God, I guess if that was the case we would not be in this situation in the first place

And yet the national guard didn't stop the problem. There's no saving Portland other than letting them eat themselves. The o lt salvation is the insurrection act.

I agree there. But the guard was clearly neutered too, as they came in as "support" of the local police. States have immense power in this republic (reeeeeeee its a democracy). I just want to see it back-fire in a hilarious, meme-y way, without causing so much damage that tax payers have to fork over relief money
