I'm trying to get my Grandparents hooked on OAN / RSBN and i'm trying to figure out hot to broadcast this programming to a TV, without constantly using a computer.
Pick up a remote, find channel easily, watch show. They probably wouldn't "pick" videos, so live streams would be great.
Thanks frens
ROKU is your friend
This is it. My pops is buying a roku TV for this reason. Easy interface for old people too
Then pluto app on roku is great
Well Youtube is able to cast to device. At least with "modern" TV (with all the apps and stuff built in) and on your home network, I'm able to start watching on a tablet then click a button in the upper right of the stream window (kind of looks like a box with WiFi signal off the corner, then select the TV and it starts the YouTube app on the TV and tunes to that stream.
Not sure if other apps can do that
That is going to be a tough sell.
Tablets are pills, casting is for movies, and there are no streams out the window. lol
They are late-70's, been watching CNN for a long time. I dont think i will get them to use a computer everytime they want to watch a show
If I am not mistaken OAN is on Roku channel.
You can get OAN (without using cable) by using an Amazon Firestick or FireTV. There is an app called Kloud TV that you can download via the Firestick and watch OAN for free through the end of December. After that, OAN costs about $6 per month.
Newsmax is free on the Firestick also. Not as good as OAN, but beats the heck out of Fox, et al.
Well worth it.
You can get an android tv box and download the KlowdTV or OAN app onto it.
ROKU is so easy even us old folks can handle it.
Its not that they are incapable, its just already a struggle lol
I appreciate it folks
