I worked 60 hours over 6 days this week in retail, inches from The Great Unwashed. This week our annual must have item released. Joe Public was outside the doors 5 hours before we opened. I chased a shoplifter down the street and physically tackled him. All of this is fine, essential, safe and legal.
Today is my only day off. All I wanted to do was sit in a warm room with a bagel and a coffee and catch up with things on my phone. This is not fine, safe or legal because my little town (92,000 in 2011 over 76.25 sq miles) is more dangerous than London (9,000,000 in 2018 over 607 sq miles).
I'm fucking done. I swore off Labour for life after they managed to start the Iraq war, put Gordon Brown in charge, and lose my a house in one term. The Conservatives can also fuck right off now.
