Part of the Texas suit is designed to extend or ignore the December 14th deadline. It isn't constitutionally set, anyways. As is common with many similar cases involving a deadline, usually this is granted so long as the case is agreed to be heard.
If every case was determined solely by whether or not a deadline is met, then it would always allow the defense to simply wait out the clock and disrespect the courts.

doesn't matter... Jan 20 is the only date that matters... and even that can be changed if need be

It could be. That’s the way the 2000 election was decided was right before the electors meeting and yes they will work weekends on this case

Unlikely imo. That's in 2 business days and the defendants haven't submitted their response yet.
