I'm retired military and that's just not something we do. We don't raid foreign companies unless they have ties to terrorism, are harboring terrorists, are conducting terrorism related activities or have captured/kidnapped Americans/military.
And the President would have to have signed off on something like that. And it would have to have been with the knowledge and consent of the German government. They are an ally. We simply can't conduct operations on their soil. It would violate our treaties/agreements with that country. I'm not trying to be an asshole. This just doesn't make any sense to me.

How they went on about it i am not sure but i think it is likely that it did happen because of how casually "the raid" was mentioned.
