Morocco is part of the Maghreb region (basically north africa) which was one of the first major regions Island spread to when it was founded. Its a majorly islamic region, even though you are right and it is pretty far away from Israel. The fact that muslim majority countries are making peace with Israel means that Iran and it's pro-palestinian authority government are increasingly squeezed out of the equation.
