If the gift was the sole decider then I would agree. But at a minimum It has to go through 12 people first for the guilty verdict, then in most states a death penalty sentence has to go through a separate jury of 12 after the conviction... not sure about the federal death penalty.

I was very pro-death penalty...until the OJ Simpson case.
The legal system/jurors simply cannot be trusted with life and death decisions, period.
