Well, that, and he has argued in front of the SC successfully. On top of being a law clerk for the SC. He knows how the SC is ran and how to make successful arguments.
Ted Cruz said in his newest book that the best judges aren't involved with making policy, which would disqualify him because he absolutely wants to make policy. He would only give up his Senate seat for a seat in the Oval Office.
Yeah, I hate giving up Senate seats for appointments. Look how Jeff Sessions worked out. If we had that Senate seat Obamacare would be completely repealed.
Cruz said he doesn't want to be a SCOTUS Justice, because he likes being in the position he's in - in politics, in DC I guess - but "where the action is". He doesn't want to be cooped up in the Court, deciding cases, etc. forever. (Not a direct quote, but that's basically the reason and what he said.)
Also, if he joined SCOTUS he would be expected to stop shitposting on Twitter. And we’d all miss it. It would kill him to keep those zingers to himself.
That isn't all. I have heard several times that he's an expert on Constitutional Law, and I just hope I didn't forget anything else of importance -- I had to go back and look this up because he's done so much involving the law in general.
He graduated from Princeton and then Harvard w/ a law degree. Was heavily involved in debate teams at Princeton and Harvard, won awards. He's Clerked for the Ct. of Appeals in TX, and SCOTUS, been in private practice, was Associate Deputy Attorney General in the U.S. Justice Department and as the director of policy planning at the U.S. Federal Trade Commission. Was Solicitor General in TX, and during that time I believe, he drafted briefs on some famous cases (DC v. Heller for one) and argued them before SCOTUS, was a Law Professor, and then Jr. US Senator from TX.
Just thinking . . . and they actually ran Beto O'Rourke against all of that above?? And said Beto got the highest number of Votes in that race, (even tho he lost it was supposedly "close"???) of any Dem candidate ever?? At this point, I'd have to wonder about that. Anyway, Cruz is willing, able, and qualified many times over.
Ted is brilliant, but maybe he wasn't allowed or inclined to misbehave, or be a fighter, or be disrespectful to anyone, ever. When he ran across POTUS and maybe he observed him for a while, maybe Cruz had a good sense of humor waiting to get out, and decided he didn't want people thinking of him as completely predictable anymore? So maybe he saw POTUS using humor and zingers, and decided to try it too because it wasn't causing him any problems, and turns out that is what the Left hates about POTUS. They never can anticipate what he's going to say or consequently do. And it works. I think the Left uses a lot of psychology against us, and it works, except with POTUS. Not sure how much Cruz has changed in the past 20 years and if he's changed to the way he is now due to POTUS, but just today he posted one of his "Zodiac" tweets. LOL.
The only thing tho that I think that will affect Cruz in 2024 is that he was not born in the US. There is nothing he can do about it and that rule has always been followed till the Obama fiasco happened and people started interpreting and reinterpreting the Constitution because he had an American mother, which has nothing to do with it. I don't think they'd allow Cruz tho, only a Lefty if it came up ... they'd make up a million excuses why his situation was ok.
That, he has never lost a supreme court case, he is a staunch supporter of Trump, he clerked for the supreme court, and his professors praised him throughout law school.
Another fun fact (I learned here): Ted Olson was the lead attorney for Bush in Bush v. Gore, but of course he had a legal team backing him up. Three of the lawyers on that team: Gorsuch, Kavanaugh, and Barret.
I really can't imagine Kavanaugh being able to excuse himself into not doing the right thing here. The last time I recall him being a disappointment was a more ambiguous topic. This is plain speaking plain letter text.
Debate as politicians practice is not what Trump does nor is it even suitable against his style. He'd be godawful to stick on a stand in court, but for the masses he's brilliant. Gotta beat him on his own terms, but few people in recent history could even attempt that.
Well, because Trump doesn't debate like someone that knows how to debate. He was a wildcard on the stage every time. Nobody knew how to handle a debate with him because they were all in debate clubs and shit. They never had seen anything like it.
He pulls this off, I'll go door to fucking door for him.
BUT..... It's total fucking bullshit that there is basically one super-star willing to do the work in all of the GOP. There should be 15 prominent names pushing for election security and remedy. It's total nonsense that it has to come down to basically just Ted Cruz.
This is why we make it CLEAR to the Republicans. We support The President, NOT the GOP. We just voted republican because that's where The Don was for elections.
I figured they learned that in the midterms last time but maybe not. Most people Trump strongly backed won or nearly won. The people that were cold towards him were all smashed.
Obama gave one speech about it at the University of Chicago while he was the sitting President. Cruz was an adjunct professor and taught it for five years. Big difference!
I am continually boggled by the idea that Obama accomplished anything that wasn't handed to him. Middle of the road student riding the coattails of privilege and hand outs.
If the MSM didn't have Obama's dick tonsil-deep, he never would have had the faux acclaim he's been given.
Not even 24 hours ago you were exhorting pedes to call their AGs and said you didn't "know enough constitutional law to know how far this will get them."
NICE! So this would be why Trump asked him to argue the case?
Well, that, and he has argued in front of the SC successfully. On top of being a law clerk for the SC. He knows how the SC is ran and how to make successful arguments.
Yeah he has a shit load of experience with the supreme court and I hope Trump rewards him with the next supreme court appointment in his second term.
Didn’t he say he didn’t want to be on the Supreme Court?
Possibly l, he has his eyes on 2024. But he would be awesome for the SC. He would never cuck out like Robert's
Well perfect. He runs 2024 and 2028, and during 2032, the MAGA president then puts him on SC.
What if he ran 2024 and then in 2028 term appoints himself?
That would be...interesting.
Holy shit thats brilliant.
I don't think people would know what to do. Be funny though.
Will it be Barron yet? Nah maybe he’ll be ready in 2040 after pop wins 2020
As much as we would all love that, isn’t Ted cruz ineligible bc he was born in Canada? Am i missing something here?
Obama was born in Africa, so who cares at this point?
waiting for Sodomayer to catch COVID.
Ted Cruz said in his newest book that the best judges aren't involved with making policy, which would disqualify him because he absolutely wants to make policy. He would only give up his Senate seat for a seat in the Oval Office.
No, can’t risk losing that seat.
Yeah, I hate giving up Senate seats for appointments. Look how Jeff Sessions worked out. If we had that Senate seat Obamacare would be completely repealed.
Exactly. Unless we know we can risk it then we shouldn’t.
Cruz said he doesn't want to be a SCOTUS Justice, because he likes being in the position he's in - in politics, in DC I guess - but "where the action is". or make him attorney general

Don't want to shit on Rudy but I'm glad Cruz is arguing the case. Cruz is still young minded and sharp, quick, and has SC experience.
Yes I thought he said he has never lost a case with scotus. Not sure if he’s had 2 or 2000.
Ted Cruz is very overqualified for this. He kind of is the guy to honestly go to.
TOP TEN ANIME REDEMPTION ARCS
He also graduated top of his class at Princeton and Harvard. Cruz is well qualified for this. Almost as he was born for this moment.
Watch though...Kavanaugh is the swing vote in this, we know what Robert’s will do already.
No way
Kavanaugh gets to decide whether Kamala becomes president
After the way she called him a mass rapist in front of his wife and kids?
Good luck with that
Yeah that’s my thought too, they were pretty awful to him during confirmation hearings
I really can't imagine Kavanaugh being able to excuse himself into not doing the right thing here. The last time I recall him being a disappointment was a more ambiguous topic. This is plain speaking plain letter text.
Blackmail runs deeper than we will ever know, that’s the scary part
Idk man kavanaugh is probably the least susceptible for that based on what he went through in 2018
He has sided with Roberts more than any of the other three on our side
Oh come on, my dick can only get so hard.
Save that for the lady pedes, buddy. #NoCuomo
High five for no cuomo
Ted Cruz:
He is the Nation's Leading Specialist on Constitutional Law and a fairly proficient Serial Killer.
He is very intelligent and a well known for being an incredible debater. Which makes Trump destroying him in the primaries even more impressive.
Debate as politicians practice is not what Trump does nor is it even suitable against his style. He'd be godawful to stick on a stand in court, but for the masses he's brilliant. Gotta beat him on his own terms, but few people in recent history could even attempt that.

“Because YOU’D be in jail.”
Crowd goes wild
Yes, you’re right.
That was such a beautiful moment.
Only fairly proficient? Come on, man!
Beat me to the reply! 🤣
Obama supposedly was one
You left off the "Nation's Leading", Handshaker.
Of which there is only ONE!
Trump 2016-2024
Cruz 2024-2032
Can't wait.
Alex Jones 2032-2040
If he pulls this off he’s got my vote for sure.
The GOP hates Trump.
You’re not wrong. We really need to do some house cleaning in the next primary season.
If all goes well most of the spring cleaning will have been arrested by then
There's two. Don't forget about Trump. He's done all of the work so far.
And Pence.
What about the silver fox?
Cruz will get Trump's endorsement and therefore all of Trump's BASED base.
Another fun fact: Ted Cruz is a master debater.
Only behind closed doors though, I hope.
He has a bit of an exhibitionist streak in him...
And a cunning linguist as well...
tom leykis has entered the chat
Nice! I did not know that
Thank God he's the good guy.
LION!!!
I haven't seen a beard improve a man this much since Commander Riker.
He's learned a lot from Trump over the past four years. I won't be surprised if he's the 46th president.
LION Ted keeps getting better with age.
He also clerked for I believe justice Scalia and worked on the bush v gore case in 2000
Wiki says it was Rehnquist but he also clerked on an appeals court before that.
You know I've really come to like this guy ever since he grew that beard.
'Bout to teach some lessons again...
The finest Longhorn professor in years.
Alan Derschowitz the diddler also said he was one of the the finest students he ever had in his constitutional law studies.
Hell, he probably knows a third of the supreme court well from is work on Bush v Gore. Trump's three appointees were all on that case.
Another fun fact: From 1966 to 1971 Ted Cruz stacked bodies, just like he's going to do in court to the dems soon.
BASED.
Cruz is the epitome of Latinos for Trump
Better not fuck this up! No pressure!
Lion Cruz is really making a strong bid for 2024.
Trump showed him how to win, and the student was a fast learner.
We are blessed to have a man of this intellect and rigor.
He's going to clean their clocks
Id vote for this motherfucker for prez, trump taught him to win
I'll try not to hold that against him...
Well if there's one thing I know for sure about Ted he loves the United States Constitution just as much, as we do...
Supreme Court Special Operator Lion Ted reporting for duty, SIR!
Never stick your Ted in crazy (Austin).
Like a good neighbor, Ted Cruz is there!!
The guy is a bona fide genius.
CHAD
Obama gave one speech about it at the University of Chicago while he was the sitting President. Cruz was an adjunct professor and taught it for five years. Big difference!
Obama has 1,000,000 Uhs, IFs, ya knows, for every one of Cruz's. That's science.
I'm going push back on that. Cruz is an accomplished attorney. He's argued cases.
Obama is a chump.
I am continually boggled by the idea that Obama accomplished anything that wasn't handed to him. Middle of the road student riding the coattails of privilege and hand outs.
If the MSM didn't have Obama's dick tonsil-deep, he never would have had the faux acclaim he's been given.
There are tons of people like that.
Completely incompetent phoney people. Narcissistic liars that claim all sorts of expertise. People never want to admit they've been fooled.
Literally a diversity hire.
Obama never argued as a lawyer in front of the SC. Also, as President, Obama lost in the Supreme Court more than any modern President.
Why is this important?
it's in the same memory hole as his birth certificate
"Did constitutional cases"? What does that even mean?
Uh, no.
Obama was lecturer who taught, basically, legal feelings.
Go read Heller, then get back to us.
Cruz knows he will not get a chance to argue anything and he knows it. These cases will never get to oral arguments. SCOTUS will probably toss.
ok doomer
Not even 24 hours ago you were exhorting pedes to call their AGs and said you didn't "know enough constitutional law to know how far this will get them."
So now you're an expert, huh?
Shut up
Deport
take your meds
