He's not wrong. You probably never heard of Jansenism. It a was a catholic spin off that started in France and it was gaining momentum and even got the attention of the Catholic church because of the stories of all the people in the movement that where being healed and literally lifted up in to air when it happened. The church confirmed the miracles to be true and convinced the king of France to shut the movement down because they called it satanic.
