Read Ohio's filing carefully: they're being completely lukewarm and it could even be interpreted that their position undermines the case of Texas, the President, and the other Intervening States.
Put in plain English, Ohio basically said:
"This election was really confusing, controversial, most likely unconstitutional and clear as mud. BUT, it's too late to do anything about THIS election, we guess... Oh well! #BuildBackBetter
However, if SCOTUS could rule on whether Governor's and other State Officials are allowed to change election rules with impunity mere months, weeks, DAYS before an election, without Legislative action, OR NOT, that would be swell!
After all, that behavior probably subverted the will of the electorate in THIS election. Gosh, that sucks! Let's make sure NEXT TIME it doesn't happen, k?"
I personally would hold off on feeling excitement about Ohio jumping into the fray here. Their filing smells extremely cucky and suspect to me.
yes, we ohioans know that Yost is a dewine follower and both are cucks. Everyone who called/emailed or posted on Yost's facebook and twitter pages, need to do the same thing and tell him to intervene!! Fucking low energy pussies in Columbus
Yep! Keep calling!
Why is Columbus so Gay? All the Men in Columbus seem so weak and beta, the rest of Ohio the men seen normal, but Columbus, my goodness, what a bunch of fags you got there.
Isn't it obvious? one of those CCP incrimination centers, perhaps one of the BIGGEST, sits right there in the hear of the shitshow that is Columbus
Columbus, Cleveland, Sin-cinnati are all fucked. Need to purge those shitholes Ohiopedes!
They got CCP Money. Basically Eye-Wash to Fool Citizens
If things go sideways I will personally take a detour to take huge, literal dump on ohio.
I've been there. Most of the state no one would be able to tell you'd done anything
Live here and love it's rolling green hills and valleys and the scenery is beautiful if you're not in libtard land of the cities. However, our government is nothing but pond scum. 3 cities ruin Ohio. Columbus, Cleveland and Cincy.
After this is done and Trump gets inaugurated we have to clean up the Ohio GOP or start the Ohio MAGA party. We’ve got Jim Jordan to lead the charge.
I don’t think there are many traditional Republicans left here. Everyone I meet is either libtard or MAGA. This is the real MAGA country we need our leadership to match the people.
I was joking, I had considered there to flee NY.
Don't, there's barely any jobs
I thought they were pretty damned clear on the electors clause. I wouldn't categorize them as being lukewarm.
Yes, their stance on the Electors Clause isn't where I have a problem.
The problem I have is that they are basically saying
"The only way SCOTUS could "fix" this, in relation to the 2020 Presidential Election, would be to hurt LOTS of leftist fee-fees and make many people in the media and local Starbucks really mad. CAN'T RISK THAT! So I guess just allow POTUS and Trump voters to get bent over the barrel. Ya know, whatev..."
In essence... Ohio stated they followed the electors clause.... they believe in the electors clause... and all states should follow the electors clause.
That is the meat of the Texas claim.
You're correct. We're on the same page there.
Ohio also infers that the ONLY way SCOTUS could remedy this case to the satisfaction of the plaintiffs would mean causing HARM to the Defendant States and Non-Trump voters across the country. So, two wrongs shouldn't make a right. Let's just leave things as they stand. Don't help POTUS achieve a electoral victory. How people will react to that possibility scares us and we don't want to confront that potential reality. So please clear this up for down the road! But let President Elect Biden assume the Presidency despite the unconstitutional nature of the election.
This is 100% pure subversion and should be denounced and called out.
Thankfully, I believe the 5 conservative SCOTUS justices are very much textualists when it comes to The Constitution.
The text of the electors clause is abundantly clear.
Ohio's arguments regarding remedy will be of secondary concern.
That is my hope as well.
However, knowing our wonderful news media, they're going to notice the exact things I've pointed out and use it as a rallying cry for
"Look! Even one of the states who basically support what Texas and the President are saying don't ACTUALLY believe that SCOTUS should change the outcome of the election."
I really don't give a rat's ass what the media has to say... and it's abundantly evident the 5 conservative SCOTUS justices don't either. They've all been victims of the cuck MSM.
Texas case is very simple, supported by clear US Constitution text. I think this is basically a no-brainer.
From your keyboard to God's ears.
Exactly. Also, I absolutely love your username!
Ohio govt is corrupt as hell
Ohiogovt is corrupt as hellFTFY PEDE!!!
If you are from Ohio, now is a good time to contact your representatives.
I am SO disappointed
Yeah, the "there was fraud this time, oups, we'll fix it next time" is the democrat talking point and has been since the start.
Correct.
Getting Trump out of office was the hill they were willing to die on. The hand they were willing to go all-in on and risk everything. Both parties have problems with corruption and illicit dealings, we all realize that. But THIS was THE ONE that Democrats said, "*%#$ it. Let's do what has to be done, consequences be damned."
Either they succeed with their bluff and successfully execute a political coup. OR, they are stopped from doing so. Those are the only two possible outcomes.
Yost is a treasonous fucking cuck.
You’re making too much of Ohio’s influence. A ruling kicking the can down the road is not relief and although it may be an out for the dissenters on the court, the majority will make a determination as to whether or not the election laws changed by the executive and judicial branches are constitutional or not.
My intent is not to doom and gloom because Ohio filed a waffly brief. All I meant to point out is that this can and will be perceived as a "weak link" in the case. There happens to be ONE state that agrees the election was suspect, but isn't on-board with the messaging of the others regarding remedy. That is going to give SCOTUS some (completely unnecessary) pause to give consideration to. Which just muddies this further.
But (arguably) equally importantly, the media and the leftist politician talking-point spewers will have a proverbial nugget of gold to prop up in the massive dung heap they're laying in. And when roughly one half of the country is going to be elated by one outcome and outraged by the other, and vice versa, the messaging and the PR battle here is almost as important as the case before SCOTUS itself.
Whichever side "wins" this damn election, or rather, whichever side actually manages to assume the Presidency regardless of who the rightful winner truly was... That person and their team are going to have HALF of the entire country deeming them treasonous and illegitimate. That's just the reality. It's sad that we're here as a country. But it is what it is.
So I am pretty pissed at Ohio for quasi-supporting this effort, but simultaneously reinforcing to the crowd who believes that a Trump Electoral win is "stealing an election" that their inept understanding of the Constitution has merit. It doesn't, and we cannot allow them to think their "feelings and opinions" on what is "right or wrong" has the slightest sliver of validity. Because it doesn't.
We follow the Constitution and the laws that bind our states and nation together. We don't follow what our hearts tell us feels fair or righteous. Ohio has given people of that ilk a tiny bit of ammunition to go "SEE! TOLD YOU!"
I get it, it’s better to cautious with expectations. Ohio playing both sides of the fence though makes their arguments moot. The question that the court must decide, for or against, is Texas entitled to relief according to the Constitution. Ohio’s solution does not address this.
If the crime is not punished, we are done for as a country. If the, whoops, we will fix it next time without repercussion continues, as it did in the FBI/DOJ/CIA, we are over.
As an Ohioan, I can confirm a test determined cuck status of the leadership is "positive"
I thought Yost would punt, but this was way worse. He wants a ruling for the future but no remedy for Trump. FUCKING SWAMP!
So Ohio's state Government is filled with traitors.
Hmmm
CUCKS.
Even if this interpretation of their brief is accurate, it literally doesn't matter.
It gives leftists and fake news media ammunition to claim that "even some of Trump's allies feel that it would be impossible to overturn the election!"
There is no interpretation of that which benefits our cause.
Everything about Ohio Republicans is 'cucky'. Fuck Ohio.
Did they potentially enter this as a signal to SCOTUS that they should get out of the woods with a path of least possible resistance?
Let them know what you think
