I know I would if it were me. Justice Thomas has to follow the law and can't outright fry Biden. I think Thomas is still very pissed at what Biden said and did to him.
He does remember because during the campaign, Biden had called Hill to apologize for the way she had been treated during the Committee hearing; the story was not over for Biden, he had to rub it in. Clarence's speech, particularly the last part of his opening statement is really moving (not the part in this video here).
