Well before the election, the State of New Jersey was sued by the Trump campaign and Republican party over Constitutional issues related to the Electors Clause (which is the argument Texas is making).

Instead of fighting through the State courts to justify their electoral changes from the Executive, they took it to the Legislative branch (New Jersey Legislature passes vote-by-mail bill to undermine Trump lawsuit).

After these changes were made by the New Jersey Legislature, the Trump campaign and Republican party dropped the case.

The big question is, "If New Jersey saw Constitutional issues before the election, and made the required legislative changes, how can they now support the States being sued by Texas for exactly the same reasons?".

Before the election: "This is a Constitutional issue, we need to get our shit together".

After the election: "Other States didn't get their shit together and have Constitutional issues, but we'll support them anyway".

New Jersey can't have it both ways.

This also begs the question as to why the other states were stupid enough to do this despite this existing precedent.

Yep. I don't get this either.

New Jersey appeared to "get it" and then put the changed election rules through their Legislature before the election.

Other States could have done exactly the same thing. But they didn't (or refused to). So the question is "why not".

All of this could have been sorted out prior to the election, as New Jersey has proved.

I'm not a US citizen (although I'm a citizen of an "ally"). I have no direct involvement in this, but I can still see that it's fucked.

Arrogant, stupid, and a moral entitlement complex. Plus they presumed Trump would roll over and go away like a Romney or McSenile did

The fact that New Jersey pushed through Legislative changes when sued by Trump and the Republican party provides strong evidence that this is a Constitutional issue that needs to be heard by the US Supreme Court.

If their wasn't a Constititional issue, then why rush through any Legislative changes?

The New Jersey response to this lawsuit before the election is significant.

I'm sure the only reason Texas didn't sue several other states as well is for practical reasons. I'm certain several other states violated election law (not to mention the fraud). We probably should have the house of representatives really.

I would like to see public testimony, after SCOTUS puts a stay on the entire election, and have it go on for months. Demand broadcast all day and all night until citizens of America get a good education on the constitution.

NJ here. PLEASE stick it to Murphy. No one likes him here (or likely anywhere)

Where do you think the Trump got the idea to let Texas sue them? Knew they could use that against those cheating ass bastard states. Great thinking Trump!

New Jersey blows. If it werent for a good paying oil job and family, I’d be gone. Gloucester county is corrupt as shit. Norcross and Sweeney the biggest pieces of shit. You seen Trump signs everywhere in South Jersey but yet the demorats damn near sweep it all.
