What's the difference between amicu and intervene?

Amicus: I agree with the case made by the injured parties.

Intervene: I am one of the injured parties.

I hope you’re not feeling isolated, Patriot! You are not alone! Peace and love from DC!

I made that username back on reddit as slight joke being an American living in Canada. 2020 made it a little too real.

You are not isolated. There are a lot of Canadians who love your President and your country! Its the media, they want you feel that way.

Amicu=I'm submitting this small brief in support of this lawsuit and this is why.

Intervene- I'm joining this lawsuit as a Plantiff

It means you can contribute (evidence?) to the case directly instead of just saying “I agree with Texas”. At least from my limited understanding.

Amicus is a measure of support. Intervening you become an additional plaintiff, a more definitive step, of course..
