To disprove this, even though I'm not top comment, I cite the fact that not everybody is blindly upvoting incorrect posts on the grounds that many registered accounts have been mothballed due to unrecoverable passwords.

Ok "everyone" was a bit hyperbolic, but in the 15 mins since I posted this it's gone from 700 to 1000....

When I see a post with 400 upvotes, that's disproved in the top comment, get to over 1000 points. It dampens my enthusiasm.
Well mods have disabled the downvote by default for starters and very few people bother turning off community styling in order to do so.
Never heard of community styling. What does that do?
It removes all special graphic, logos, etc...It also blocks the ability to downvote and is turned on by default.
