We still see him from time to time, he's in better shape than me. I never rode an Abrams for a living though, I rode an IT office chair, not terribly strenuous physically. Mentally is another story.
Maybe, but we're not really close to there. I've noticed that the regular overflights of FA-18s running to the local bombing rage have stopped, and it's all been rotary wing traffic for the last two days or so. Again, probably just regular training rotation, but it normally gets real quiet this time of year when the Nat'l Guard isn't training here.
The Marine Hornets run all the time (usually) and they like to light their afterburners on the return trip home. They're being real quiet at the moment, for what it's worth.

NY pede here. In my 5 years of living in my house, I’ve never had a helicopter shake the fucking shit out of my house like one just did 5 minutes ago. It sounded like it was going to land on the roof.
lol I always wonder what civilians think when we do night flights. I figure I’d probably think something was up too if I saw a black helicopter fly over my house late at night.
Civilian here. I was living here when we were training ARVN on the UH-1, hotshot Americans on the AH-1, and B-52s were landing at Hunter AAF. You haven't lived until a Buff flies overhead at night on final with all the lights on. Fucking unbelievable, like a UFO. You think it's going to fall on you.
Hahaha I bet that’s just crazy. I always think it’s cool how it can be the darkest of nights and if you’re in a field somewhere or out on a runway with other helicopters if you look under your NVGs you couldn’t see an aircraft that’s one rotor disk away from you.
We're a fair distance away but I think we're on some flight path. Don't really notice them often unless I'm outside and they normally fly higher I think.
It was definitely interesting seeing the black copters after they had been portrayed as the fare of whacky conspiracy theorists for so long.
I live >16 miles from Fort Leavenworth in Kansas and the hueys have been going non-stop every night right over my house, and those are just the ones that go in this direction.
I suspect it has something to do with the federal prison that's right nextdoor to the fort and some new inmates that will be on their way soon.
I think the military was put on high alert for suspicious activity from Iran. I think I that they were deploying helicopters to investigate or intimidate or something

Robin Sage is done entirely in North Carolina. The 1st Ranger Battalion is stationed at Ft Stewart. V-22s are primarily an Army SOCOM transport asset.
