I'm guessing this is related to the child exploitation thing?

More than likely that Visa and MC want their cut of that sweet porn money.

I think this is a good thing, but I'm concerned that sword is double edged.

It’s NOT a good thing. Censorship isn’t good just because you agree with the situation, how many times does this need to be conveyed to you. If this was something you actually liked, it wouldn’t be good. They censor one thing, you better believe something is coming after it.

I don't see how this is censorship. They're not stopping you from going to pornhub, they're simply saying you can't use their service to pay for a pornhub subscription. Which you don't even need because the vast majority of pornhub stuff is free to watch anyway.

afaik, if it's targeting porn in general, they wouldn't single Pornhub out. I believe it's related to the child exploitation scandal that blew up lately. I hope that's the case and nothing more sinister.

.....

Credit card companies have already started banning processing on conservative platforms. Conservatives everywhere are pissed about it. You mention this situation as if you’re completely unaware that this is happening and that our people aren’t at all pissed about this.

That's it burn it all down!!!

Damn, they are stealing all entertainment options until we are forced to watch what they approve of. In the UK I think they proposed or implemented you need a special license to view porn.

A lot less to do with access censorship, and more to do with trafficking issues. otherwise they would ban it across all forms of adult content. the drumkit site is seeing consequences.

Hard disagree on this. Facebook and Instagram probably have more trafficking and CP on them than Pornhub, yet MasterCard and Visa have never “investigated” them. Same with YouTube.

This is solely a mainstreaming of what they’re already doing to conservative sites to provide cover for when they expand their targeting to ANY viewpoints they disagree with

chronistus 3 points ago +3 / -0

I agree that facebook and insta do see more pickup and trafficking that's not talked about, but when they are caught in this they tend to have a record of legal compliance and not trying to stonewall victims to my knowledge. the Pronbhu has a track record of stonewalling, ghosting and covering up these kinds of issues, and very little vetting until very recently, and that was because of legal investigations.

I don't like porn and want it abolished because It grooms children at an early age. But I don't like that mastercard and Visa are doing this. This is going to get worse.

Is this about porn or something else? Every cable company I know has an adult ppv channel and Playboy has its own channel.

Don't lose sight of the real target. It's about control.

thecorleone 0 points ago +1 / -1

It’s about kiddie porn which is rampant.

3
tellittothedead1 3 points ago +5 / -2

That’s bullshit. How can they tell people how and where to spend their money? Fuck them. Can they even do that?

3
marishiten 3 points ago +3 / -0

Why? The left owns porn. This doesn't make sense.

I wonder. Do you think that Mastercard/Visa has to deal with a SHIT TON of charge backs from that site so they're just like ... fuck it.

3
Lemmuel 3 points ago +3 / -0

That's the most likely reason IMO. For all the left's SJW talk, they still love porn. This move doesn't align with woke. Pornhub is probably one of the most likely uses for a stolen credit card numbers. CC companies are probably losing money with pornhub for fraud chargebacks. I doubt blocking that site will change the end result. The stolen cc will probably get used on onlyfans or whatever the next most popular porn site is.

...will they continue to let customers use other peoples' cards? /from Mommy's basement>

Congress worried about Sec 230 while banksters decide where we can spend out $$$

can't use them to buy certain types of guns can't use them to pay for entertainment (and that's what porn hub is to the majority of users) what next? can't pay for your HCQ Rx?

Sounds like collusion. Is it legal for them to decide to both do this together? Are they not competitors

Daily reminder: the porn industry was created and funded by far left jews in the 1960s. It's goals were to destroy the moral fiber of America. Presently, the porn industry is a known player in the human trafficking cabal.

How is that even legal?

I guess there finally is a reason to get a Discover card.

2
Badjinx42 2 points ago +2 / -0

Discover is part of the Visa/MasterCard network. The only alternative is American Express.
