Now that I think about it, it's amazing that Albertans haven't pushed harder for secession. The Feds (and Quebecois) are all too happy to take Alberta's budgetary surplus via transfer & equalization payments, then have the audacity to impose a carbon tax and block any attempts to build pipelines/expand the energy infrastructure. Meanwhile, you want to talk about taxation without representation? Montreal, Toronto/GTA, and Vancouver effectively vote for the rest of Canada, Albertans have virtually no say in the matter.
