My dad always knew it, God rest his soul. He was raised in Texas. Huge Longhorn and Cowboys fan. He and my mom ended up moving to GA, but he always raved about how great of a state Texas is. He loved it with all his heart. They are honoring him at this moment. I'm truly grateful.
Have our own electrical grid, can grow our own food, supply our own oil and energy needs and soon we'll be able to make our own Tesla's pickup trucks because Elon's coming! What a fantastic state.
That's the funny thing... Russia has stated that if Texas was seceding from the union that they would support them... Most people think it's because they want to get back at the United States... The truth is that Texas would become one of the top 2 superpowers on the planet... Russia, and the rest of the world isn't sure which one would be bigger... The United States or Texas... and I'd think they'd want to start things off on a good note.
I see the point you're making but hold the horses on the hyperbole there.
This "only Texas" mentality is both counter-productive and untrue. Very few states need the big daddy federal government to be successful. Very few.
But we work together because it's beneficial to all of us to work together. That's the only reason. If it stops being beneficial (due to corruption, market interference, or other types of oppression) then states should feel free to bounce out of here. Like Brexit. That used to be how it worked until the Civil War, now technically we're locked together which causes a lot of problems. Sadly at this point, most states could secede and be better off.
We have a dedicated 2 years of Texas history in k-12. If you don't know a lot about our history I would highly encourage you to look into it. It's fascinating.
It seems like they hold their treaty with the USA very close to their chest, absolute Chad move
Fun fact, there are three electrical grids in the US. East, West, and Texas
Few people know this.
Texas is the only state that could legitimately stand alone as a successful and wealthy first world country without the United States.
Texas is, and has always been, something incredibly special.

We were our own country for 9 years - Republic of Texas

It's definitely not "only Texas."
It's a dire shame that every effort to harden the grids was fraught by obama and frankly trump has not done enough.
If we're going to have a civil war that largely works in our favor.
Related, but if Texas succeeded, it would be the 5th largest energy producing and consuming country in the world.
This time the cowboys are gonna singlehandedly save the republic. The future of this nation hangs on this case.
Yes we do
I live in Texas can prove it by telling you we are the only state that flys the Texas flag and the US flag at the same height. We take no fucks.
Edit: also growing up we said the pledge to the US flag and then to the Texas flag.
"Honor the Texas flag; I pledge allegiance to thee, Texas, one state under God, one and indivisible."
Second edit: own a shirt that says “Fuck y’all, I’m from Texas”
Austin is a hemorrhoid on the ass of TX
Needs some MAGA ointment to relieve it of inflamed libtard
That’s where we keep the steers and queers.
We’re doing our damndest! I hope we can unseat a few council seats in this run off.
Omg that's funny as shit.
If it all goes down, we just need a week or so to clean that town out.
Is there a Texas citizenship test like there is with the US as a whole?
If there is, I'm fairly certain it involves smoking a brisket to perfection.
Thats not an easy thing. Even for us Texans. Its not an exact science.
You bet your ass I do!
Shit, I’m from NC and I’ll answer YES to all three.
Do you put beans in your chili?
I think there is a question about what to do when heading East and enter the pine curtain...
The Alamo test perhaps?

Yep, learn about our "George Washington" Sam Houston. And the Commanche tribes, the most bad ass injuns in the US.
Well we do teach Texas history in school. And you say the pledge of alliance to the Texas state flag in school.
At least when I went to school. Crazies moving from California trying to ruin this wonderful State.
They still do both USA and Texas pledges at least in elementary schools in Austin. Of course they do both also in Spanish.
Don't forget the millions of communists from south of the border trying to ruin it, most of them "legally" too.
I resemble that remark.
I imagine if Texas decided to become it's own country again (rather than be part of the US) it would likely wreck the US economy.
It should be its own country again.
