A judge on Thursday disqualified the St. Louis prosecutor and her office from the case involving Mark McCloskey, who along with his wife pointed guns at racial injustice protesters marching on the private street near their home in June.

The order applies only to Mark McCloskey and not his wife, Patricia, who faces the same charges. Attorneys for the couple are expected to ask that the ruling apply to Patricia McCloskey’s case, too.
The order will mean that a special prosecutor will be assigned.
Nevertheless it’s a step in the right direction. They were both doing the same thing ...protecting their property. It’s just a technicality which will be resolved. Keep in mind that they are both lawyers
it might be a step in the right direction. but what if the special prosecutor they appoint is just better at getting convictions? then it's actually a step in the wrong direction?
The key to this verdict is “initiated prosecution” for political reasons therefore if there were no political reason no prosecution would have been initiated.

Yeah I'm aware. It's a good development, but this case has a long ways to go.
