The CIA was in a pickle back in the day because the NSA was tracking all their bad deals. Weapons, drugs, humans, you name it. There were too many white hats in the agency so they sent in Snowden to expose the surveillance that the NSA was carrying out on the American people, and by proxy the CIA. It didnt work as well as they had hoped, but Snowden was made to look like a hero.

Well the NSA shouldn't have been doing that anyway.

Not saying they should have, but the CIA was and is involved in far more nefarious shenanigans. Not entirely sure the surveillance has stoppped either, but I digress.. The NSA was not under CIA or MOSSAD control and was in fact exercising leverage over them because they had compromising information. If Snowden wasnt a double agent, he would be a hero. If he was a true whistle-blower. But the reality is that he only did what he did to prevent the NSA from exposing the majority of our intelligence community as Deep State apparatuses. He only has safe harbor in Russia until the information he has to give them has run dry. He is a traitor in every sense of the word, make no mistake.
