They do have the ability to subpoena. Same way they file for a warrant.

They do not have subpoena power, very rare circumstances when there is health care fraud.

Ya they do. They have all sorts of administrative subpoena power that doesn’t even have a court check. And can seek subpoenas from grand juries or a judge.

The FBI does not have inherent ability to use administrative subpoenas; only the Executive Branch can do that without a judge or grand jury.

FBI is tucked into the Department of Justice, which is a federal executive department, so they are capable of signing administrative subpoenas.

So, the FBI doesn’t have inherent subpoena power. Much like other entities, they can obtain a subpoena by presenting form and evidence to a judge or grand jury which approves it.

They just can’t walk into Wray’s office and ask to legally compel someone to appear.

This. As an attorney and officer of the court I too have the ability to file for a subpoena, but a judge has to approve it. Just here for the assist lol
