Then we gave women the right to vote and become more "civilized and polite."

A society that allows its self to be walked on and raped basically.

If you think our problems came from giving women the right to vote, then you're sorely mistaken. It was our complacency as a country that allowed this to happen. They slowly stripped the American spirit from us and we weren't privy in large numbers to what was actually going on, because we read newspapers or watched media networks and the entire government was totally compromised.

The first time we have an outsider and we're slowly resolving the middle-east, we have all this new information coming to light about the Democrats, etc.?

No, it has nothing to do with men or women; some of our best patriots are women. It has everything to do with how we got here as a collective.

23
Magafactured 23 points ago +24 / -1 (edited)

Of course, and I mostly agree with that, but there are certainly some interesting corollaries with unpopular opinions…

Another example is “only property owners getting a vote.” On the face of it, sounds evil and bigoted, but as a class, those people probably care a lot more about the right things that keep a country functional, than say, college kids.

15
Wtf_socialismreally 15 points ago +16 / -1

I can be brought around to that angle: Property owners are invested in their country, their land and how their value fluctuates, and therefore are the best base to vote to begin with.

12
educatedandfree 12 points ago +12 / -0

The owners of productive capital = anyone with a job. My body, my choice.

If you want to dent stay at home moms the vote, then you empower the single baby mamas and blue haired cat ladies.

That genie isn't going back in the bottle.

I would include business owners in that lot too. Though they either need to be profitable in goods, or show 5 years of existence.

If they understand cash flow & how to trim the fat to keep afloat, they know how to keep the nation successful.

8
PurestEvil 8 points ago +9 / -1

Of course it has to do with women. Women overwhelmingly vote left - the party of wealth transfer via government. Men overwhelmingly vote right - the party of "keep your hands out of my pockets."

The easy solution is regardless to allow voting ONLY to people who pay more in taxes than they receive from the government in total. Work it out in some ways to consider non-monetary transactions, and voila, let's see how much taxes tax payers are actually willing to pay.

There is NO moral justification for people to vote to take other people's stuff.

Women are more easily manipulated by their emotions. Women are much more likely to vote for demonrats than men. The feminization of our society and denigration of men has hurt everyone.

Those are all problems that have serious consequences for us all.

2
Pedeville 2 points ago +5 / -3

Women voting isnt the problem. Rotschields, Rockefellers etc being allowed continued existance to fuck over the human race is the problem.

As most of you already know, boomers were able to afford a single family home, college, marriage, kids, cars, dogs, etc., all with a high school diploma. Why was this? Back when boomers were entering the workforce, it was predominantly only white men in the work force. What does this mean? Well, the supply of human capital was far exceeded by the plethora of jobs. This meant that in order to lure in workers, employers were forced to raise their wages. This is how boomers were able live such high qualities of life, because their wages were above the rate of inflation and cost of living, respectfully. However, once boomers started helming positions of government and corporations, they implemented retarded policies that would literally borrow from future generations, thereby lowering posterity's standard of living. In a word, boomers were the peak of Western civilization.

Now for the three major policies they implemented:

  1. The first policy was allowing women to enter the workforce. By doing this, boomers were basically able to double the workforce in less than two generations. All of a sudden you have twice as many workers competing for the same number of jobs. This means employers have the upper hand and no longer need to raise wages to compete for workers.

  2. The second policy was allowing migrants to enter the country en masse. Not only did boomers get women to compete with their own men, but then boomers started importing migrants to compete with both American men and women. The number of jobs remained relatively fixed as the number of workers increased exponentially in a couple of generations.

  3. The third policy, arguably the most abhorrent, was simply shipping American jobs abroad to foreign nations, many of which don't even honor basic human rights, like China.

What if you looked at the Fed's target inflation rate and saw that the printing of money was causative and forced families with only dad working to throw mom into the work force to keep up with inflation?

The Fed is the elephant in the room. Winen working were a response to the undermining of purchasing power as a result of monetary debasement.

1
DragonRudy 1 point ago +1 / -0

Although it's a gigantic piece of shit the fed didn't have an official inflation target until 2012. The real problem was during the post-WWII era the reconstruction flooded the world with USD. With US manufacturing unscathed, and dollars flowing worldwide we became the world reserve currency. Any nation with world reserve currency status always suffers from Triffin's Dilemma. This causes demand for the world reserve currency to increase as the world economy grows and necessitates a trade deficit. If there is no trade deficit foreign demand for dollars will outpace their ability to acquire them causing them to trade at a premium overseas. Up until the end of the Bretton Woods system in 1971 under Nixon, foreigners would exchange their overpriced dollars for American gold to capture arbitrage depleting our gold reserves. The end of Bretton Woods, taking us off of the gold standard, effectively allowed us to export dollars worldwide exchanging our purchasing power for the ability to buy shit with worthless money. It also opened pandora's box with the financialization of the entire economy. What you really need to look at is how debt and money really relate to one another and you'll understand where the inflation actually came from.

1
educatedandfree 1 point ago +1 / -0

I wont argue 1971 with you bc it proves my point. Women weren't present in the work force in huge numbers until the 70s.

I am also fully versed in fractional reserve lending and can tie it to any number of social issues, not the least of which is the rise of the MIC, the cartelization of medicine, the corruption of our erstwhile "leaders", and the criminal erosion of standards for American public education.

This will be an unpopular opinion, but if the steal stands, the whole money printer goes brrrrr with its corresponding diminishing returns in terms of real productivity (what is it now? Something like $5 of debt to produce $1 growth in GDP? Not getting any better either) is going to blow up spectacularly on Biden and the party of Davos My popcorn and my body are ready to watch the world burn and protect what I can for my children.

Then maybe we'll get torches and pitchforks, which is the only thing that will stop the slide to consumerism- and inflation-driven debt enslavement we're all on, even those of us who abhor credit and live debt-free.

The guillotines must roll.

I'm willing to die for the Constitution but many of us here seem educated enough to understand game theory. So my willingness to die might be useless, which acts as a brake on my behavior.

I find this all incredibly stressful, but I just bring to mind this from Lieutenant Spiers as recorded in Winters' memoir, Band of Brothers. Oddly, it helps:

"The only hope you have is to accept the fact that you're already dead. The sooner you accept that, the sooner you'll be able to function as a soldier is supposed to function: without mercy, without compassion, without remorse. All war depends upon it."

DragonRudy 2 points ago +2 / -0

Women's labor force participation rate was already 43.1% in 1970 versus 60% overall. Additionally, if you index CPI and women's labor force participation rate to the same date there is no positive relationship between CPI and women's labor force participation prior to 1971. The CPI begins outpacing the labor force index in that year.

Everything else we are on the same page pede.

10
BidenHunter 10 points ago +11 / -1

It was about market competition. Southern states were becoming too powerful & wealthy, due to free labor. They had an economic advantage that the North believed threatened the union, along with actually threatening to exit the union. The war forced them to stay in the union & lose their free labor economic advantage.

6
DontGiveUp 6 points ago +6 / -0

Can you point me to some sources?

8
BidenHunter 8 points ago +8 / -0

Abraham Lincoln, Collected Works, New Brunswick: Rutgers University Press, 1953

There are many others but I recommend the essay below to start. It can put you on the path to finding books & primary source material from the time period. Using primary source material to figure out what was going on at any point in history is critical. There is currently way too much bias in interpreting history. This essay though, is pretty consistent with the primary source material on the Civil War:

Google: "Cedar Hill ISD The Economic Origins of the Civil War" (it's a pdf)

5
IForgotMyOldPassword 5 points ago +6 / -1

Basically a College level U.S. History class. The North didn't even care too much about slaves since the abolitionist movement wanted reparations and land given to freed slaves but the North was kind to that since the lifestyle in the North was based off working and earning land and so on.

There was good reason for this, especially down in the South West. If you have taken a man's horse (especially out in the middle of the desert) chances are you have taken his supplies and his only mode of transportation. This will most likely lead to death meaning that you have directly killed that man. Thus the death penalty for stealing a man's horse. None of this is sourced through any firsthand knowledge. Only by the old guy at work that I enjoy talking to.

Whoa whoa whoa. I get that right now that seems like a good idea bc we want Trump to remain in the WH, but the President doesn't have the right or power to do what Lincoln did. The man shut down the first and 5th amendment rights to a free press and habeas corpus. He silenced his critics and threw them in jail.

We're bitching about YouTube but want POTUS to behave like them? Fuck that.

We MUST be better than them BUT if they fuck around with the Constitution, it's we THE PEOPLE who must make sure they find out.

I personally do not want Trump to behave the way Hillary, Obama, or Biden would if the tables were turned.

Legal options first, then it's up to Patriots to water the tree of liberty. This is our fight. We can't delegate our responsibility to one man and ask him to compromise his ethics and the Constitution to fix our abject failure to pay attention to what our legislators, cops, and judges have been doing all these years.
