So there is some talk going around about the possibility for states to attempt to secede from the union if the constitution is violated. My question is, if the overwhelming majority of counties in the U.S. are red, what happens if say a county in California were to want to go with Texas and the rest? Does the land mass of former California shrink? Because looking at the state level is a high level over view, a county map is a much more detailed picture of the U.S.
