Before the Texas case the Court could have rejected appeals from the Trump campaign and voters saying it's a political issue, not for them.
Now any decision they make will be political. Yes, that was true before, but they could say not getting involved was the only way to not be political. Now they can't do that. They piss off the blue States, or they piss off the red States, and they can't split the baby.
Might as well do the right thing then.
Actually, they can either piss off a tiny minority of communists or they can win the hearts of a broadly diverse MAGA majority.
Choose to do the popular thing SCOTUS! Stop The Steal.
It shouldn't matter, they should follow the law and the constitution it's very simple.
When can we expect the SCOTUS to respond to this case? days/weeks?
Some of the justices will think that way.
But not all.
I'm predicting 7-2 split
I think it will be 5-4 and I'm not comfortable yet predicting which way it will go. I'm assuming the four libs will vote as a bloc. The question is whether another one goes squishy.
I believe within ten days but I expect it will be sooner.
Why would Roberts be making the decision?
