They want to abolish the death penalty so that they always have a legion of political rioting soldiers to unleash whenever they want, as they did recently using COVID as the excuse, and allowing them to vote in certain states.

They don’t care about not being able to outright kill innocent people and their political enemies. They can accomplish that through other means, such as bribing inmates to kill them.
