I've seen a lot of conflicting claims and speculation about what abilities Executive Order 13848 ("Executive Order on Imposing Certain Sanctions in the Event of Foreign Interference in a United States Election") grants President Trump.
Can anyone who is well-versed in legal language clear up what it does and doesn't do?
Here's my take:
1st it orders an inquiry into election fraud in the past
then makes a power to impose sanctions on persons or organizations (foreign only) who have directly or indirectly sort to interfere with the election, either by hacking or by use of propaganda/disinformation
sanctions can include seizure of property, complete cut off from the US economic system
This could mean they impose sanctions on the entire CCP (all 90 million)
Could mean seizure of all CCP linked assets in the US (Land, bank accounts, stock portfolios)
Above is unlikely but also possible on my uneducated reading.
There's some interesting provisions:
This basically means trump wants to be able to freeze funds without notice.
What's most interesting in reading the document, is how it looks like it was written for what we're seeing now. To me its a smoking gun that Trump knew ahead of time something was going to be done, it supports the 'trap' idea, as nuts as it sounds.
Trump was indeed playing 4d chess (not that I ever doubted him). The EO also requires a report and investigation, thus it makes sense they may have sprung a trap.
I'm thinking out loud now - feasibly he could use this to seize controlling interests in tech and other companies - not sure how many facebook / google shares are owned by CCPs but it might be a few.
Above is definition of foreign interference - this is very interesting, its quite broad. Can merely be deceptive. It could be said that social media companies + CNN/MSM were agents, acting on behalf of a foreign government, doing deceptive things to influence the election.
Makes the hunter Biden thing make sense too - that was the trap. They knew the MSM/SocMed would cover it up - the point of it was to get them to do something clearly deceptive, to cover for Beijing Joe.
