I once had an abscess that started on Friday night. I had to get through the weekend somehow. I took vitamin C crystals in massive quantities, in water. One day alone I took over 100 grams. By Monday afternoon the pain and swelling were completely gone. Vitamin C is amazingly effective against inflammation.
True, but it depends on the vitamin. There's a very good way of knowing you've overdone the vitamin C: you get diarrhea. But if you really need it, no diarrhea.

Pro-tip Trick for pain management (firsthand x6, not just academic):
Pain signals work like a telegram messenger who HAS to deliver the message. So from where the pain is, the messenger starts to travel along to deliver it first towards your spinal cord, then up to your brain. This telegram delivery messenger HAS to get his receipt of delivery and head back with it to the address he came from.
However, if YOU KNOW the pain is coming (like say like about to be shot, burned, stabbed, chronic pain, etc.) you have your brain send out the receipt FIRST! Have your brain say, "Yes, I know I have excruciating pain in my abcessed ____ tooth." (be as specific as possible, like upper front molar; or like if your finger is broken, say/think the specific finger (eg right hand, ring finger first knuckle); bc you're sending the reciept message to intercept the incoming right address telegram or not.)
This way the brain telegram signal going out, intercepts the incoming messanger; and the messenger then turns around and heads back with the receipt; thus helping dull/end the pain signals. Pain blockers do the opposite; they stop the messenger, but don't give him a receipt; thus he'll keep trying harder and harder to deliver the message; and the pain blockers have to keep getting amplified up more and more; hence the never-ending escalation of meds/drugs/drink/etc.

I’m just distracting myself most of the time by constantly refreshing. Going to see my doctor tomorrow, finally. Cause of this covid BS, he didn’t physically assess me, it’s been 3 months of this hell now he’s gonna finally look at me.
Lowkey terrified I may have cancer, MS, thyroid or something.

Just finished 3 years of night shift myself. Never again, lol. Its hell, but grateful for those that continue to do it.
Did two years. Loved it but was taking a toll. Moved to days and it was even worse. I'm a night owl and always will be.
The money is not worth it at all. My quality of life went hecka down because of it.
Agreed, it drove me back into depression and 6 months after ceasing night shift I'm still recovering from it.
