What needs to happen is 'platforms' are treated as utilities and cannot discriminate unless there is a violation of a statute (ie kiddy porn). In return they have looser standards for mergers etc (facebook was allowed to acquire instagram). If the tech oligarchy wants to play god with the content posted on their sites then they are publishers and need to operate independently as well as be held liable for the content they source from their users

The way to deal with monopolies is to reintroduce competition. Trust bust. Reagan broke up the phone companies into smaller competiting companies.
