It is the marketplace of information that has shifted, as it did in the last gilded age with yellow journalism.
Additionally, Americans are legally and financially prohibited from building communities that make local news economically viable. Local zoning laws and lending practices see to it we are too spread out and isolated to make a newspaper or radio station a profitable enterprise the way they used to be.
So, I support free speech and I want reforms to media consolidation, land use law, and lending practices.
