Without Trump at the helm, the GOP will just go back to being the country club Republican Party with the likes of the Bush cabal.

Only if you let it. For fucks sake take a look at the historical voter participation in primaries. If 10% of us showed up for the primaries we could run every one of them out of office.

I vote EVERY time there's an election, and my precinct is empty during primaries. Do I sometimes have to vote for the lesser of two evils in the general election? Sure, but that's only because the average person didn't to show up in the primary.

Did I say to show up, and vote in the primaries? OK, ONE MORE DAMN TIME...vote in the primaries please.

They're nothing but low-down, double-dealing, backstabbing, larcenous perverted worms! Hanging's too good for them. Burning's too good for them! They should be torn into little bitsy pieces and buried alive!

The party hasn’t changed, it’s just hibernating until Trump is gone. The Republican Party is the enemy in our own foxhole. To deny this is to deny the reality of the Republican party’s actions during the entire Trump administration.

I have made this point whenever someone mentions 3rd party....we ARE the Republican Party now

Something that has been around for 170 years isn't going to change overnight. If we let them off the hook or leave them to it, we just make things worse. We just need to primary all the losers.

Has it been forgotten that Teddy Roosevelt ran as an independent progressive for president? He wasn’t a conservative Republican. The problem with trying to get rid of the Rinos is the primaries are probably rigged to assure the establishment GOP Rino candidate wins.

I agree, reclaim the Republican Party. Kick out the RINOs and destroy the Demonrats and all other commies. The RINOs will become the new left wing, and the whole country will have moved to the right.

Rush doesn't want to rock the boat, but our boat has holes in it, and it will sink after Trump is gone. People leaving the Democrat Party are NOT joining the Republicans--they are becoming Independents. We've been trying to purge RINOS for years, but the process is too slow. No party will adhere to conservative principles until you rid Washington of the lobbyists, foreign corruption, pay-to-play schemes, and voter election fraud.

I'm ready for a new Patriot party--it's not a new concept in our history. But nominees for office must agree to stick to the party platform and the Constitution, or they're out. The remaining Republicans can then be known as the "Do-Nothing" party.

I've said this since 2015. This was a hostile takeover of the Republican party and getting Trump elected was only the first step.

Rush is right, as usual. Trump is the most popular Republican ever, he owns the party.

Same with secession. Push the commies out instead.

We need to organize, first on a local level. We need to go to primaries, become delegates every one on this site should do that for this coming midterm. Next we should find local MAGA people who can work in polling elect them to positions on school boards local councils etc. We get trashed in elections by these power hungry tyrants because we are too self involved and independent, if we got off our asses and started participating we could force these morons out, we don't need a majority we just need a few really motivated people and it would change everything.

Democrats would love few things more than a splintering of Republicans.

GOP deep state leadership has never changed, a Romney is still in charge. How do you suggest we purge unelected corrupt leadership?

hectorspector 1 point ago +1 / -0

Utah had 29% voter participation in the 2018 primary.

Utah had 75% voter turnout for the 2018 general election.

Not trying to be a smart ass, maybe a little, but I feel bad about it, but how about showing up in the primary.

1
ChewySoap 1 point ago +1 / -0

Already do that, research each candidate and share with friends.

Realistically, the majority of Americans aren't going to do that tho unfortunately.

I am talking about actual leadership tho, see Ronna McDaniel (Romney) who has full control over GOP funding and who gets what (Swamp Rats get funding Patriots do not)

In my area (large metro area) there is a county level GOP organization and a state level GOP organization. Over the last decade we took over the county organization and have made inroads in taking over the state organization. We got our guy as the state party chair.

Endless stupid committees, functions, golf tournaments, fundraisers, and jockeying for "meaningless" party positions.

Also I'm part of an election crew of about 30 people that work together on local elections. We get together, decide whose running that we like (or who we want to run), and work our asses off. It's gotten to the point that when we walk in to the candidates initial organizational meeting, the group, which is usually only the candidates family and friends, get excited. Why? Because thirty volunteers with decades of experience and a track record of winning campaigns just walked through the door to get you elected to the school board, clerk, state rep...

What we want won't be accomplished in a day.

BEEN SAYING THIS FOR MONTHS! Sick of the TRAITOROUS pedes here who want to abandon MY party all because of a handful of bad actors. Just look at the states supporting Texas. This is MY party.

I think a new party would work, but not in 2020/2021. Maybe in the future if the dominant 2 party system were to fracture into 4-6 parties or something. Right now, it would just be a divide and conquer wet dream for the Democrats. Also, to the folks that think that RINOs will always be there, whose to say that a new "MAGA Lion" party wouldn't be infiltrated and co-opted by these grifters once Trump leaves? For years we thought many RINOs were pro-liberty, but they turned out to be backstabbers.

I think RINOs will lessen if there is no money to be made. Going after China and big business is the correct thing to do right now. For example, why would Mitt Romney backstab the people who elected him if China's big money is off the table? Possibly blackmail or leftist threat. It looks to me like Trump is in the process of fixing this right now.

I think the best plan is for us to rid the US of Dominion, recall/impeach mini-dictators like Whitmer, primary the RINO cucks in 2022 with fair elections, and we may have a solid Republican party by 2024....that is unless the China bought tyrants end up in GITMO before then.

I agree we should transform the GOP. A 3rd party will only deliver Dem victories in major races. Smaller races, sure it can work, but not on a national scale any time soon. And yes, I'm talking to you, my libertarian friends. It does no good to the Republic when we lose elections because "muh principals!"

2
DomTullipso 2 points ago +2 / -0

Fuck the Republicans--they're just as complicit as the Dems in the desruction of this country. Bush 1 brought globalism to the GOP and W gave the kill shit. The party of Lincoln has been dead a long time. I love rush, but he's wrong on this one. I'm a Trumplican, not Republucan. Fuck the GOP. And I think most deplorables agree

Roosevelt was a huge progressive though, bordering on commie. Lincoln grew the executive office as much as anyone, and overstepped his authority often.
