The companies will claim protection of proprietary info.
Automated voting robots used in US elections should be FORBIDDEN from using closed-source-code. Any company seeking to service a US election needs to be compelled to open-source and publish all their code. We're talking about an application that counts checked boxes. How proprietary does it need to be?
